Vertiv (VRT)
Descriptive positioning only. The positioning label says whether a company's business is exposed to a layer, never whether to buy it. Layers with no exposure are not recommendations to add any.

Where VRT sits (2 layers)
L1 · Power Infrastructure
Power delivery, grid capacity, and electrical infrastructure for AI datacenters.
L7 · Cooling
Thermal management and liquid/air cooling for high-density AI compute.
Icons mark layer roles — not company logos. Position only; not a price chart.
VRT appears on 2 layers because its primary businesses span more than one constraint — not a ranking. See Method for Broadcom / Marvell / Vertiv. Why multi-layer names

Vertiv
Products on file: UPS, Power distribution, Switchgear, Busway
What does Vertiv do in this layer?
Supplies critical power equipment for data centers, including UPS, power distribution, switchgear and busway.
Why does this layer matter for AI demand?
Between the grid and a GPU there is a whole chain: transmission, transformers, switchgear, UPS, PDU, and rack-level distribution. Each step has to be sized for the rack, and racks are moving from tens of kilowatts toward 100kW+ and megawatt scale.
What could change the picture here?
Transformer and switchgear lead times are measured in quarters to years. A datacenter with accelerators on site and no energisation path is not compute.
Same-layer companies (alphabetical, not ranked)
- ETN — Supplies UPS backup power and power-management systems for data centers.
- GEV — Supplies grid transformers, switchgear and transmission equipment, as well as gas turbines for power generation.
- HUBB — Supplies utility products used across power generation, transmission and distribution.
- PWR — Builds and maintains transmission lines, substations and distribution lines for the power grid.
L7 · Cooling
XingAI taxonomy. Filers did not assign this layer.
Map role vs this layer: Primary business sits here. Describes where the business sits, not a trade.
Why does this layer matter for AI demand?
Air cooling was adequate when racks drew tens of kilowatts. Rising accelerator power raises rack density, which raises heat, which forces liquid: cold plates, CDUs, immersion, pumps, heat exchangers. This is its own thermal infrastructure industry, not a line item under datacenter equipment.
What could change the picture here?
Retrofitting an air-cooled facility for liquid is a construction project, not an upgrade. Existing datacenter stock is a real limit on where dense racks can go.
Datacenter thermal management, including liquid cooling and CDUs.

Public 13F rows
Rows below are public SEC Form 13F-HR filings, reported by the filing entity for the period shown and filed later — they are never current holdings. Form 13F covers long US equity positions only: it excludes short positions, cash, non-US holdings and most derivatives, and a reported position may have been sold since. Assigning a ticker to a layer is XingAI's classification, not the filer's. Nothing here is a recommendation, and an institution reporting a position is not a reason to take one.
